Does the DOT “certify” my employees?
No. The DOT does not, nor have they ever certified hazmat employees.
- There is no such thing as a “DOT” certified training program for shippers and forwarders
- This is the subject of much confusion and misleading information on the part of training companies and others.
- Again, it is the EMPLOYER who determines if the employee is properly trained for a job function and “certifies” that the correct training has been accomplished according to DOT requirements.
